Educate the Planet’s Advisors are academic, business, entrepreneurship and education professionals united by a mission to make education accessible for developing markets and to increase scholarships opportunities and awareness among talented applicants.   • Who are Educate the Planet’s partners?

  • How is Educate the Planet funded?

There is a variety of funding models for Educate the Planet and partnership awards.

Partner schools/colleges/universities most commonly offer a full or partial tuition fee and accommodation cost waiver for some of the programmes with Educate the Planet covering its administration costs.

Private sector organisations contribute via a fixed sum, a flat rate or a percentage of the estimated total of an award.

Educate the Planet accepts donations and also charges some fees for its services.

  • How are Educate the Planet partnership awards administered? 

All Educate the Planet scholarships, including those co-funded with partners, are fully administered by the Educate the Planet Scholarship Committee. The Educate the Planet Scholarship Committee makes payments on behalf of scholars (e.g. tuition fees, accommodation costs) and invoices a partner for its contribution to the partnership. This enable partnership award scholars to receive the same support as other Educate the Planet Scholars.

All donations go to funding tuition fees (and accommodation fees in some cases) for our applicants and to cover operational expenses of the foundation.

Scholarships

  • How to apply for a scholarship via Educate the Planet foundation?

Generally, to get a scholarship, you need to register with the system as an applicant, choose one or more scholarship option, provide all necessary documents, comply with eligibility criteria and pass through awards procedure. Please check our Guidelines for Applicants for more details.

  • What does the scholarship cover?

Award recipients receive:

  • Tuition fees (full or partial);
  • A monthly living allowance (accommodation fee only) – for some courses;
  • Educate the Planet Support Programme is a tailored engagement programme creating opportunities for scholars to network with each other as well as alumni, Educate the Planet, high profile speakers and partner organisations.

Covered costs vary considerably depending on the course and school/college/university choice. Typically, most scholarships are approximately £9,000 for a full academic year. Scholars must have additional funds to cover visa, travelling, living costs and other expenses to study at a selected school/college/university.

  • How many scholarships can I apply for?

As many as you wish once you are eligible for a particular scholarship criteria.

  • What degree(s) can I study?

Generally, Educate the Planet awards scholarships for one selected certificate, diploma or degree programme of any level with the duration of no longer than 1 year. For some programs, you can select an onsite or distance learning course. PhDs are not yet eligible for funding under Educate the Planet Scholarship programme.

The availability of a scholarship for a particular university/college/school or course is subject to your current education level and eligibility criteria. You can check available scholarship options here (you will need to register or log in to your account).

  • What is the application processing fee and why it is collected?

An application processing fee covers the cost of having your application professionally reviewed and rigorously checked against Educate the Planet and our education partners’ eligibility criteria. This makes sure we provide our applicants with the best match between their educational aspirations and courses that are available for funding.

To support applicants, Educate the Planet fully funds the application processing fee for 1 application per scholarship option per person. All other applications incur the £20 flat fee per application.

  • Can you help me choose the right course?

Educate the Planet can connect you with a professional Student Advisor who can review your legacy education background, discuss your academic aspirations and plans and help you choose course options matching your personal and academic profile. You can request a consultation in your profile (you will need to register or log in to your account).

  • What is the Talent Support Programme?

Educate the Planet’s Talent Support Programme is specially designed to help talented individuals from developing countries explore their education and career opportunities.

Talent Support Programme participants will get a one-to-one session with our student advisors and will be able to submit their applications for 5 or more courses of their choice.

£25 Accommodation Advice & Search* We will recommend you accommodation options which suit your academic and personal needs

  • What sort of education/career advice can I get?

You can request a professional education/career advice from our experienced Student Advisors. One of our Advisors will evaluate your background, current academic level, English proficiency and other criteria to help you choose your education and career path options.

Depending on your background, you can be eligible for several scholarships options. Leave a request for a consultation in your profile (you will need to register or log in to your account).

  • What is a Priority Application Review?

You can use the Priority Application Review service to have your application checked for initial eligibility criteria ahead of our normal schedule. A Student Advisor will review your application and will let you know if it matches programme, visa and other eligibility criteria.

Please note that having your application reviewed does not guarantee you will be eligible for and/or awarded with a scholarship. However, this procedure helps your application pass the shortlisting stage faster. Please see Guidelines for Applicants for more details on the awards procedure.

  • What does the Accommodation Advice and Search Service include?

This service includes advice and search for accommodation options based on your requirements and the course type you plan to take. Our specialists will take down your needs and will offer you a list of matching options in the location of your studies. This service is free for Educate the Planet Awardees.

  • What does the Visa Advice Service include?

This service includes a detailed review of your current visa status and extensive advice on visa application arrangements. Please note that ordering this service does not guarantee you will get a visa in the country of your study, but it will help you match your background and papers with visa eligibility criteria and run all visa arrangements faster. This service is free for Educate the Planet Awardees.
